Bryan has been training and competing at national and international open level in karate for over 18 years, and has been coaching for 7 years. He is a Scottish Karate Governing Body (SKGB) Level 2 coach, and has a wealth of experience in teaching karate to individuals and groups of all ages and abilities. Bryan is currently teaching karate to a number of primary and secondary pupils in both mainstream and Additional Support Needs schools across Glasgow as part of the council's Active Schools programme. These classes are either as part of PE or offered as an extracurricular activity at lunchtimes or after school.
Bryan is also one on the main coahces / instrucotrs at the Kugatsu Karate-Do, a thriving karate club teaching Shukokai Karate to students in the west end of Glasgow.
Bryan gained a BSc (Hons) in Psychology from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2008 and has recently completed an MSc in Sport and Exercise Psychology at Bangor University in Wales.
Bryan is currently in training to become a British Psychological Society (BPS) chartered sport and exercise psychologist. He has applied experience offering sport and exercise psychology consultation to a number of athletes, including a pro-golfer, junior golfers, and martial artists.
